01 \ About the Project

Players stumble upon an ancient artifact—a scroll that seals mythical creatures, landscapes, and stories. In the game, you’ll help these creatures regain their freedom, build homes for them, work alongside them, learn their stories, and uncover hidden tales within the scroll.

Scrollden is a casual home-building and management simulation game inspired by fantastical creatures from Chinese mythology. Filling a gap in the market for relaxing home-building games, Scrollden allows players to build intimate relationships with mythical residents, witness their growth, and experience a gradually unfolding narrative.

Our team has been developing this game for about a year under its previous project name, Uniland. We’ve showcased early versions and prototypes at events like the 2023 and 2024 Game Developers Conference, EGD Waffle Games, Playtest Thursdays, and Gumbo Games. The game’s demo was a finalist in the 2024 CUSGA competition and was nominated for the Paradox Award. Scrollden is now available for wishlisting on Steam.

02 \ Key Features

Characters

Unlock characters as you progress through the scroll. They live in your home, wandering, working, and sleeping as they please. Each character has unique preferences for food and buildings.

Interact with characters, view their information and tasks, and assign them activities.

Characters expend stamina while working.

When stamina runs out, they will rest.

The Scroll

The scroll drives game progression. Over time, unlock new areas within the scroll to gain more abilities, blueprints, creatures, and expand your home.
